Sportsbook.com and PlayersOnly Moving to Merge.

In some breaking news that was recently announced, the company that owns PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com have decided to merge with – well, you guessed it, the Merge Network.

The ironic twist will unite some of the biggest sites in the world and affect only the poker skins on PlayersOnly and Sportsbook and effectively move them over from the Cake Network and onto another medium-sized network in Merge, which houses rooms like Aced.com and has some great Carbon Rakeback deals from Carbon Poker – formerly known as PDC Poker.

The move will be official on April 15th, 2010, and insiders have said that traffic will double or nearly triple once these sites move over to the Merge Gaming family of sites.  Included in the monumental deal will be some sick rakeback offers in upwards of 30 to 35 percent, which bodes well for recreational and veteran players alike.

This also means a lot more action may come about in the sportsbooks of these sites, which is ALWAYS a good thing for the sports betting community.

We look forward to seeing all the new things Merge and its network of sites will do in the future, especially Carbon Poker – the biggest and most promising poker room currently sitting on Merge.

Colts Odds Favorite to win Super Bowl XLIV

It’s just a few more days until the Super Bowl XLIV begins and bookmakers have picked their favorite to claim the title. The Indianapolis Colts are set to face the New Orleans Saints and the Colts are the favorite to win the trophy on February 7th.

The Colts are from the AFC and they won the Super Bowl back in 2006 and are hoping to claim the title this year. Las Vegas odds makers set their odds quickly after the last playoff game was completed. The Las Vegas Hilton was one of the first to get odds out on the upcoming Super Bowl, placing the Colts as 4-point favorites against the Saints.

A short time later online sports book BetUS had their odds posted which were the Colts by -5 ½ with a 56 total. Gamblers who will be backing the Saints will get +170 odds on the BetUS money line while the Colts are at -210 odds. The odds for the game vary depending on what location you are using but gamblers will find that the Super Bowl betting odds vary from offshore lines of 1-point to 1 ½ points.

The line is expected to hold steady but it will depend on how the public is betting. If most of the bettors bet on the favorite then the line is expected to widen. However if the majority goes in the Saints favor then the line will shrink.
